September is here again and summer is almost gone. Most of us are back to our usual stressful life. I just finished reading an article about The 10 Most Scientifically Relaxing Songs in the Worlds written by Alex Lafosta on the site Riots, and I thought that you would enjoy a little relaxation time to help you get back on track.
Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson, the Director of Research at Mondlab International, has conducted a study to find the music that would induce the greatest relaxation. At the British Academy of Sound Therapy, he had directed a study on 40 women who were connected to sensors to test their heart rate and blood pressure while they were listening to these songs. They were given timed puzzle games, which created a stressful environment. The study has shown that their anxiety decreased by 65 % by listening to these songs:
- Marconi Union, “Weightless”
- Airstream, “Electra
- Dj Shah, “Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix)”
- Enya, “Watermark”
- Coldplay, “Strawberry Swing”
- Barcelona, “Please Don’t Go”
- All Saints, “Pure Shores”
- Adele, “Someone Like You”
- Mozart, “Canzonetta Sull’aria”
10. Cafe Del Mar, “We Can Fly”
I have added them to my list of buoy songs.
Maybe you have your favorite song to share. I would love to hear it! Leave a link to a video in a comment.
